Star Trek for many years lead the field of Space exploration and adventure and today has just as many fans.
The exploration of Planets and far away star systems captured the imagination of hundreds of thousands of people.
Although it was followed by Star Trek Voyager and Star Trek next generation, these series have their own fans and these are of course justifiably popular.
Without Star Trek there would probably have been no Moon Landings and certainly no Mars Missions even today.
